Mentoring Programmes

Personalized mentoring programmes for students at risk of school dropout.

Educational Programs

Mentoring activities are designed to provide tailored support for students, particularly those at risk of dropping out of school. They are based on a direct one-to-one relationship between the student and a mentor (either a teacher or an external professional), whose role is to guide, support, and motivate the student throughout their educational journey.
These activities were introduced under Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) as part of the measures aimed at preventing and addressing school dropout.
In 2025, we established a dedicated Fund to support the continuation of mentoring activities in 10 Italian comprehensive schools located across different cities, with the goal of reaching 500 students by 2026. Each school was allocated resources to implement 50 individual mentoring pathways for students facing specific vulnerabilities, whether motivational and/or related to academic subjects, who are at risk of dropping out or have already interrupted their school attendance. The pathways, with an average duration of 20 hours, began in spring 2026.
The initiative was welcomed positively by all participating schools, each of which requested access to the maximum number of mentoring pathways available, confirming the strong appreciation for mentoring activities. Through this initiative, we aim to continue recognizing and supporting the role of those who work daily in direct contact with students and are therefore best positioned to identify needs, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for timely preventive action.
